The import option that we will see today is very useful for project managers. Imagine you've received a huge file from a client, but are asked to translate only some parts of it. You might consider the option of copying the part to be translated to another file and later copying back the translation into the original file which might be risky or not possible at all for advanced file formats like Adobe FrameMaker, for example. The new Service Pack brings an excellent solution for this! You as a project manager can import the entire file in Transit, you just have to tell Transit what needs to be translated and Transit will take care of the rest for you.

Generating statistics for multilingual projects is a tiresome exercise if you have to generate them for each language separately. Just imagine the time you can save if you generate the statistics for a project with 20 target languages all in one go. With Transit NXT SP7, you can now save the statistics for all target languages of a multilingual project in one single file or separate files in Excel, HTML or other formats provided by Transit NXT.

Transit NXT makes its user interface available in nine different languages: Chinese, Czech, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish. If you selected a user interface language during installation and are now wondering about how to change it, here is a quick and easy way to do that.
Select User preferences from the Transit button as shown in the figure below:

Inserting Unicode characters or special symbols by means of the keyboard is usually complicated. To simplify this, Transit NXT provides you with a character map to insert any symbol or character into your translation.
To insert a Unicode character, place the cursor at the position where you want to insert the desired character and select Edit | Text | Character map as shown in the screenshot below:

In this tooltip, we shall learn how to automatically switch between keyboard layouts while translating in Transit NXT. You may have defined several input languages in Windows to make it possible to enter text in different languages using the respective keyboard layout. The currently selected input language is indicated in the Windows taskbar as seen in the screenshot below:

Working with markup ID's can be quite tedious especially if the segments have a lot of markups. And it is not possible to avoid markups because if they are not inserted correctly, you may not be able to export your file. Therefore markups require special care while translation.
